Coach signs extension after dismissing talk of Lazio post

Bologna coach Stefano Pioli has extended his contract until 2014 after dismissing reports he could take charge at Lazio. Following Edy Reja's resignation at Lazio, Pioli has been linked with a move to Stadio Olimpico after leading Bologna to a ninth-placed finish in Serie A this season. But Pioli, who was sacked by Palermo in pre-season, has agreed to extend his stay by a further year with the Dall'Ara outfit after agreeing a one-and-a-half year deal in October. "I've read the reports, but I've had no contact with them (Lazio) or any other clubs," the 46-year-old told Tele Radio Stereo. "I can exclude the possibility that I will be leaving Bologna. My staff and I want to give a bit of consistency to the work we have done this year. "It's normal that there are rumours, but I am happy at Bologna who have put me in the best situation to work."
