Edinson Cavani has signed a new deal at Napoli that will keep him at the club until 2017, ending speculation of a move away from Italy.
The striker has been continuously linked with moves to Chelsea and Manchester City over the summer but has now committed himself to the Naples club for a further five years.
The Uruguayan has scored 49 goals in 68 appearances since moving to Napoli from Palermo in 2010, a record that has attracted the attention of many European giants.
But the 25-year-old has decided to stay, saying: "I'm really happy because I remain here in Naples. I'm glad to have signed the deal."
And Napoli are delighted with his decision, with president Aurelio De Laurentiis adding: " I think I's better to extend Cavani's contract rather than signing another player
"We must play in the Italian league, in Europa League and in Coppa Italia"
De Laurentiis also confirmed Cavani will still have a release clause of 60million euros.
