Serie A giants deny plans to replace Ranieri next term

Inter Milan have denied reports they could replace Claudio Ranieri with current Zenit St Petersburg coach Luciano Spalletti next season. Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport reported this week that Inter would turn to Spalletti should Ranieri fail to guide the club to UEFA Champions League qualification this term. The Nerazzurri currently sit eight points adrift of the automatic Champions League places after a poor start to the campaign, but have enjoyed a revival over recent weeks. Inter have firmly refuted claims of a potential change in management, insisting there is no truth behind the reports. A statement released on the club's official website read: "In regard to what has been indicated by La Gazzetta dello Sport over the future of the Inter bench, the club decisively refute the suggestion, which is without any foundation."
