Serie A: Erick Thohir wants Inter Milan to earn place among elite

Inter Milan president Erick Thohir wants the club to become regarded in the top ten clubs in the world within two years.
After winning the Champions League back in 2010, the Nerazzurri have suffered a dramatic decline, and have not finished in the Serie A top three for the past three seasons.
Thohir is looking to oversee a period of change at the club, and wants to turn the fortunes of this giant of European football around.
"In two years we want to return to the top ten strongest sides in the world," Thohir told La Stampa.
"For this year, our aim is to improve on our fifth-place finish.
"However, winning the title would not be bad!"
Thohir also admitted that there will not be huge transfer funds for coach Walter Mazzarri to improve the squad, insisting that the young players in the ranks can carry them forward.
"I'd like to give importance to the renewals of contracts, like (Mauro) Icardi and (Mateo) Kovacic," Thohir added.
"I'm not a person who needs to panic and make signings without logic.
"Planning is needed."
