Zlatan awaiting Roma offer
With Ajax not needing to sell this summer after consolidating their debts, Ibrahimovic's much mooted move to Roma is on ice.
However the Swedish striker is still keen to play in Serie A, and reiterated his desire to line up for the Giallorossi next season.
"I know that president [Franco] Sensi's club were interested in buying me," said Ibrahimovic. "But I don't know if they still are.
"Of course I would like to play for Roma, they are a good side, but I think Ajax are still awaiting serious proposals.
"If things carry on like this I think I will have to stay in Holland next year.
"We are a really young side and I think we are very strong.
"We were unlucky in the Champions League quarter finals when we were eliminated by Milan in injury time."
However, the plea will not fall on deaf ears, with suggestions that Roma sports director Franco Baldini will make an official offer for the player, as well as Cristian Chivu, in the coming week.
