Goalkeeper's agent hits out at contract talks
Fernando Muslera is set to leave Lazio, according to the goalkeeper's agent.
The Uruguay international looked poised to extend his current contract which is due to expire in 2012.
However, contract negotiations appear to have stalled, and Muslera's agent, Daniel Fonseca, has outlined the shot-stopper's intention to exit Stadio Olimpico.
He told
lalaziosiamonoi.it: "I was silent all this time and I did it for the good of Muslera and that of Lazio.
"There is a contract that has to be renewed, and Fernando is good here. But someone has not kept his promises.
"The relationship between me and the Lazio president Claudio Lotito is entirely compromised, and now also that one between Muslera and Lazio.
Marchetti
"Muslera certainly will not renew his contract with Lazio. Now I can say that Muslera will be no longer the Lazio goalkeeper.
"There are at least 20 clubs which want Nando, if Lotito doesn't find a solution now, we can reach the end of the contract."
And it appears that Lazio have a replacement lined up already, with Cagliari's Federico Marchetti seemingly a target.
Marchetti's agent, Giuseppe Bozzo, told
Radio Mana Man: "Marchetti has a clause in his contract. Lazio have shown some interest in him.
"There is no deadline fixed. There will be another meeting with Lotito to see if the expression of interest will turn into something concrete."
