Brazilian defender aware of transfer gossip

Vasco da Gama defender Dede is reluctant to read too much into reports linking him with a high-profile switch to AC Milan. The 23-year-old centre-half is being billed as a summer transfer target for Italian giants Milan. The Serie A outfit continue to fend off interest in Thiago Silva, but appreciate that he could be snatched from their clutches if the price is right. Dede is considered to be a ready-made replacement for his fellow Brazilian. He has spent his entire career to date in his homeland, but has already made over well over 100 senior appearances and has been capped twice by his country.

Dede is aware of the speculation suggesting he could be on his way to Europe once the transfer window re-opens, but he is refusing to get caught up in the transfer hype. "I don't know what is going to happen. I am entirely focused on Vasco," he said. "It is only speculation at the moment, nothing concrete. "I'm still waiting to see what Vasco's position is. I want to know what is real and what is speculation."
