Joe Hart has revealed he opted to join Torino on loan from Manchester City due to the lack of options available to him.

The England no 1 joined the Serie A side on a season-long deal in the summer after falling down the pecking order at City.

Hart slipped to third choice keeper at the Etihad behind Claudio Bravo and Willy Caballero and was told by City boss Pep Guardiola he could leave if he wanted.

The 29-year-old departed for northern Italy before the summer transfer window shut and has since started 10 matches for Sinisa Mihajlovic's side, helping his new side climb to seventh in the Serie A table.

"To be honest, it all happened very quickly and I didn't have many options," Hart told Turin-based newspaper La Stampa.

"If I am here, then it is because there was nowhere else for me to go.
