Goalkeeper extends contract until summer 2011
Veteran goalkeeper Andre Lenz has signed a one-year contract extension at Wolfsburg.
The 36-year-old has been with the Bundesliga champions since 2004, although he is currently second choice behind Diego Benaglio.
Lenz's previous deal did not expire until the summer but he will now stay on for a further 12 months and is thrilled with the news.
"I have signed a new contract and I am fully delighted about this," he told
Wolfsburger Allgemeine Zeitung.
"This is an indication of how well I am respected among the team and the club."
Lenz maintains that he will not entertain the idea of hanging up his boots under he reaches the end of his contract.
"I am feeling great, physically, and I have no idea when to retire, therefore this new deal is the best solution," he explained.
"I am now looking forward to these 18 months coming up, then we will see what happens."
