Schalke continued their summer recruitment campaign with the arrival of Ciprian Deac from CFR Cluj.
Versatile midfielder arrives in Germany for £2.4m
Schalke have continued their summer recruitment campaign with the arrival of Romania international Ciprian Deac from CFR Cluj.
The midfielder signed a contract until June 2013 before Tuesday's transfer deadline and Cluj have received a transfer fee of £2.4million for the 24-year-old.
Schalke manager Felix Magath thinks that Deac's versatility will prove a useful asset throughout the season after losing out to Galatasaray in the race to sign Zvjezdan Misimovic.
Magath told Schalke's
official website: "He is able to feature on the left and on the right side of midfield and has the ability to act as a playmaker as well.
"We moved for him quickly after it was obvious we would not be able to pounce for Misimovic."
Schalke signed several players in the summer transfer market, including Dutch striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Spain legend Raul.
