Forward to join Nurnberg on one-year loan
Young Stuttgart striker Julian Schieber has been loaned out to Bundesliga rivals Nurnberg for a year.
The 21-year-old appeared 19 times in the top-flight last season as well as making five UEFA Champions League outings, but he was seldom included in the Swabians' starting line-up.
Stuttgart have consequently accepted an offer from Nurnberg to take Schieber on loan for the entire 2010-11 season, and director of sport Jochen Schneider believes the move will help advance the Germany Under-21 international's development.
"Julian should take the next step and develop further," said Schneider.
"He has the best conditions to do that at Nurnberg and he can gain more Bundesliga experience.
"Julian has been pushing for more appearances and wants to play his way into regular contention for the first team.
"In the end, everybody involved can benefit from this transfer."
Challenge
Schieber is relishing the new challenge of playing for the Bavarians, who earned promotion to the Bundesliga with a play-off victory over Augsburg at the end of last season.
"It is important for me to have the opportunity to play regularly at the highest level in the Bundesliga," Schieber told Nurnberg's
official website.
"I am grateful to Stuttgart for being allowed to do that with Nurnberg. I will do all I can this year to perform well so that I can help Nurnberg to achieve their ambitions."
