Robert Lewandowski says Arsenal "really need to step on the gas" ahead of Bayern Munich's Champions League tie against the Gunners on Tuesday evening.

Bayern Munich can make it three wins from three in the Champions League with victory at the Emirates Stadium, and they have have left as winners on their previous two trips to the north London with a combined five goals scored and one conceded.

Arsenal are bottom of Champions League Group F after suffering defeats in Croatia against Dinamo Zagreb and at home to Olympiakos.

That has left them with plenty of work to do to qualify for the knock-out round, but Lewandowski is anticipating a difficult challenge.

"I hope we get the three points," Lewandowski told Goal.com. "With three victories, we would nearly be in the next round.

"Arsenal would have an issue, yes, but that's not our worry. We are Bayern Munich, and we're thinking of ourselves.

"We know it won't be an easy game. For our opponents, at home, it's almost the last chance to reach the next round. Arsenal really need to step on the gas, otherwise it's over."

"How good is the chance [to win the Champions League]? No idea, but the squad is better I think," Lewandowski continued.

"It is difficult to see what will happen in the important months, in April and May. We can only focus on our job. In the Champions League, you can never talk about a favourite."
