Carlo Ancelotti wants a repeat performance from his Bayern Munich side after they beat Arsenal 5-1 in their Champions League last-16 first leg on Wednesday.

Thiago Alcantara scored twice as the Bundesliga leaders thrashed the Gunners at the Allianz Arena, taking firm control of the tie ahead of the return leg at the Emirates on March 7.

But Ancelotti refused to get carried away with the result, urging his team to avoid complacency when they head to London next month.

"The result was really important but we don't want to do a mistake," he told reporters after the match.

"We have the advantage, we have to prepare for the next game in London taking into consideration this advantage.

"We have to play another game and we want to play again like we played tonight. The same intensity, the same spirit, the same concentration. We want to avoid problems."

Alexis Sanchez ensured Arsenal reached half-time on level terms, cancelling out Arjen Robben's early strike, but the Premier League side conceded four goals after the break to leave themselves a mountain to climb.

"I think the game was tough in the first half because they equalised and they had opportunities to score the second goal," Ancelotti added.

"Arsenal is a dangerous team on the counter attack and we had problems so after that I think physically the second half we played with real intensity and physically we were really good.

"For this reason I think we had good control."
