The 19-year-old midfielder has agreed a three-year contract with his new club, taking him through to 2017.
Ott will make the move as a free agent as his deal in Munich is due to expire at the end of the season.
He will be taking a sizeable step up when joining the ranks at Nurnberg, as he is yet to make a first-team appearance for his current employers.
His experience to date has come in the fourth division with Munich's reserves and with the Germany U18 set-up - although he is being tipped to earn a call-up to the senior Philippines side in the near future.
Nurnberg are unfazed by his lack of top-level action - having seen him net 12 times in 24 appearances this season - and believe they have pipped a more illustrious rival to the signing of an exciting prospect.
General manager Martin Bader told the club's official website: "We are delighted to have signed Mike Ott for the new season.
"He is one of the most talented players in the German game.
"He has shown incredible talent in his first year as a senior player for TSV Munich 1860.
"It is well known that a big club were after his signature. We are proud that he has opted to sign for our club."
