Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang continued his fantastic goalscoring form with a hat-trick in Borussia Dortmund's 5-1 win over Augsburg on Sunday.

The Gabon international took his tally to 20 for the season in all competitions and also joined Robert Lewandowski at the top of the Bundesliga goalscoring charts.

Marco Reus was also on target twice in the rout, with Raul Bobadilla scoring the scant consolation for bottom-placed Augsburg, who remain at the foot of the table with just five points from their first 10 games of the season - their lowest haul at this stage of a Bundesliga campaign.

In Sunday's other game, Borussia Monchengladbach continued their resurgence under caretaker coach Andre Schubert by beating Schalke 3-1.

Lars Stindl, Raffael and Julian Korb scored the goals for the Foals, who have now won their last five league fixtures after losing their first five of the season under Lucien Favre.

An own goal from Andreas Christensen was all Schalke had to show for their efforts as they fell four points behind their local rivals Dortmund in the standings, with just four points also separating them from Gladbach.

All four teams are back in action on Wednesday when the DFB-Pokal returns with the second round.
