Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Weigl has confirmed the Bundesliga club turned down his request for a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

Dortmund's sporting director Micheal Zorc is adamant the club will not lose any more players in the January transfer window after winger Christian Pulisic signed for Chelsea in a deal that will see him move in the summer.

Dortmund are reportedly already lining up a replacement for Pulisic and want a deal for Crystal Palace's Wilfried Zaha at the end of the season.

Weigl, 23, has been largely out of favour in this campaign, making just 10 appearances in all competitions, with Dortmund preferring to play Axel Witsel and Thomas Delaney in central midfield.

An injury to defender Manual Akanji in December gave Weigl the chance to switch to centre-back in three matches.

"I have to accept that those responsible at the club didn't want to release me (from his contract)," Weigl told German magazine Sport Bild.

"Now my full concentration is on being successful with BVB [Dortmund]."
