Dede out until New Year
Borussia Dortmund defender Dede will be out until 2006 with a knee injury.
Borussia Dortmund defender Dede will be sidelined until the New Year after picking up a knee injury against Nurnberg on Saturday. The Brazilian left back was unable to start the second half of Dortmund's 2-1 victory at the Frankenstadion after suffering a partial tear of the interior ligament in his right knee.
He will now miss BVB's next three matches, against Hannover, Frankfurt and Bayern Munich.
Dede's knee has been stabilised with a cast and team doctor Markus Braun is confident that he will be able to rejoin the first team squad for training after Christmas.
The news will come as a massive blow to Dortmund boss Bert van Marwijk, who has already lost Jan Koller, Lars Ricken and Cedric van der Gun to cruciate ligament injuries this season.
Defensive all rounder Florian Kringe looks likely to move from midfield to cover for Dede during his absence.
