Germans rule out striker deal
Morten Rasmussen looks set to return to Celtic next summer after Mainz ruled out a permanent deal for the striker.
The Danish forward is currently on a season-long loan in Germany after finding himself down the pecking order at Parkhead.
After a bright start to his loan spell, Rasmussen has found himself out of favour recently and Mainz sporting director Christian Heidel insists they will not take up the option to sign the player on a permanent basis.
Heidel said: "Morten has some problems in the transition to our style of play.
"He's a penalty-box striker but we are not the sort of team who put the opposition box under siege and throw balls into strikers from the wings.
"We have him on loan until the summer. Nothing else is being considered."
