Andre Schubert has been appointed as Borussia Monchengladbach's full-time head coach after an impressive interim spell.
Schubert took the reins on a temporary basis in September after Lucien Favre resigned following five Bundesliga defeats in a row.
Under the guidance of the club's former youth team coach, the Foals won six successive league games, drawing for the first time this season last weekend.
Many players, including midfielder Granit Xhaka, had spoken out in favour of the former St Pauli coach being given the job on a full-time basis, and Gladbach have confirmed a contract until 2017 has now been signed.
"Andre has done a very convincing job in the past eight weeks," said Borussia's director of sport Max Eberl on his club's website. "He's obtained excellent results with the team.
"We have used the last few days for extensive talks and we know that our team are in good hands with him and that is why we have decided to give him a contract as head coach."
Although Schubert has succeeded in turning around Gladbach's fortunes in the Bundesliga, leading them from the foot of the table to sixth place, he has not been able to do the same in the Champions League.
Despite drawing twice with last year's beaten finalists Juventus, defeat at Sevilla means Gladbach can no longer qualify for the last 16.
They face the Spanish side again on November 25 with a win needed to boost their hopes of finishing third in the group and qualifying for the last 32 of the Europa League.
