Ajax left it late but hit back to win 3-1 at Willem II and close the gap on Eredivisie leaders PSV Eindhoven.

Etien Velikonja converted a penalty 10 minutes into the second half following Lasse Schone's foul on Thom Haye to give the home side a lead they held until the 70th minute.

Winger Schone made amends by firing Ajax level with a superb strike from outside the area and the visitors clinched a fourth straight league win thanks to Siem de Jong's 79th-minute finish and David Neres' stoppage-time effort.

PEC Zwolle climbed to third after a 2-0 home win against ADO Den Haag extended their unbeaten run to six league matches.

Piotr Parzyszek and Younes Namli gave Zwolle a flying start, firing their side into a 2-0 lead inside the opening 11 minutes, both with strikes from outside the penalty area.

Defending champions Feyenoord, who started the day fifth, lost further ground on the leaders after being held to a 1-1 draw by bottom club Roda JC.

Steven Berghuis gave Feyenoord an early lead, but Dani Schahin fired an equaliser six minutes later for Roda, who secured just their seventh point of the season.
