Eredivisie round-up: PSV Eindhoven restore five-point lead

Jurgen Locadia

Hirving Lozano and Jurgen Locadia each scored twice as PSV Eindhoven restored their five-point lead at the top of the Eredivisie with an entertaining 4-2 win at Vitesse Arnhem.

Lozano opened the scoring with a neat finish after 18 minutes but the home side drew level on the stroke of half-time when Locadia diverted a corner into his own net.

He made amends with two superb strikes in the space of seven second-half minutes and Lozano's second put the game firmly beyond Vitesse, who at least pulled one back with a brilliant volley from Chelsea loanee Mason Mount.

At the other end of the table, 10-man Sparta Rotterdam moved off the bottom thanks to a 2-1 home win over FC Groningen.

Robert Muhren's opener was cancelled out by Ludovit Reis, but Loris Brogno scored what proved to be the winner from the penalty spot just two minutes before half-time. Mark Veenhoven was sent off in the last minute for the hosts.

NAC Breda are just a point above bottom side Roda JC after having to settle for a 2-2 draw at FC Utrecht.

Willem Janssen put the home side in front after 19 minutes but Mounir El Allouchi equalised three minutes later and Giovanni Korte made it 2-1 early in the second half, only for Nick Venema to level things up 12 minutes from time.
