Ajax's hopes of winning the Eredivisie title suffered another setback as they were beaten 3-2 at Vitesse Arnhem on Sunday.
Bryan Linssen struck twice for Vitesse after Navarone Foor had given them an early lead and, although Ajax replied through Mateo Cassierra and Siem de Jong, they could not force an equaliser.
Having also been held at home by mid-table ADO Den Haag last time out, second-placed Ajax now find themselves 10 points adrift of leaders PSV Eindhoven with eight games to go.
