PEC Zwolle moved up to fifth in the Eredivisie table with a 3-1 win over ADO Den Haag on Sunday.

Tomas Necid opened the scoring with a 17th-minute penalty and Jesper Drost doubled the lead 13 minutes after the break.

Necid's second 19 minutes from time made it 3-0 and despite Michiel Kramer scoring for the visitors three minutes later, PEC closed out the win to leapfrog FC Twente who drew 2-2 against Vitesse.

Marko Vejinovic put Vitesse ahead after 17 minutes and although Jesus Corona equalised just after the half-hour, Jan-Arie van der Heijden restored the lead a minute later.

But Twente were level again five minutes after the break as Davy Propper was given his marching orders and Hakim Ziyech netted the resulting penalty.

Heracles claimed a morale-boosting win in their battle to avoid the drop as they overcame FC Utrecht 4-2.

Thomas Bruns fired them ahead in the eighth minute but Kristoffer Peterson levelled things midway through the first half.
