Luuk de Jong scored a first-half hat-trick as PSV Eindhoven thrashed 10-man Cambuur Leeuwarden 6-0.

The forward scored from the penalty spot in the 10th minute after Cambuur midfielder Sander van der Streek was sent off then added his second three minutes later before completing his hat-trick just before half-time.

Davy Propper scored PSV's fourth in the 57th minute with substitute Jurgen Locadia adding a second-half double with goals in the 75th and 90th minutes to add the gloss to the scoreline.

The win moved PSV into second place behind Ajax, who drew 2-2 at FC Twente.

Felipe Gutierrez put hosts FC Twente ahead in the 21st minute and Hakim Ziyech added the second from the penalty spot in the 52nd.

Viktor Fischer pulled one back for Ajax midway through the half and Nemanja Gudelj salvaged a point with an 83rd-minute penalty.

Elsewhere, Lars Veldwijk scored a hat-trick for PEC Zwolle who moved into third place with a 3-0 win over nine-man Excelsior.

Veldwijk found the net in the 14th, 26th and 58th minutes for a comfortable win, which was made even easier for the home side after Sander Fischer was sent off in the 84th minute for his second bookable offence, followed by Tom Van Weert just before full-time.

Markus Henriksen scored twice in two minutes for AZ Alkmaar as they claimed a 3-1 win at De Graafschap.

Rajko Brezancic opened the scoring for AZ in the 14th minute but the teams went in level at the break thanks to Nathaniel Will's equaliser.

Henriksen made sure of the victory for the visitors, though, with two quickfire goals in the 64th and 66th minutes.
