AZ Alkmaar have handed a new deal to Demy de Zeeuw.The 23-year-old only arrived at AZ from Go Ahead Eagles last summer, but quickly made a positive impression on coach Louis van Gaal.
The midfielder's previous deal was due to expire in 2009, but he has added a year to his commitment on improved terms.
"Last season Demy performed above expectations and AZ found it appropriate to revalue his contract and also to extend his stay," director of football Marcel Brands told the club's website.
