Ajax midfielder Evander Sno is 'doing well' after his cardiac arrest and has been transferred to an Amsterdam hospital.
The 23-year-old had to be revived three times after collapsing on the pitch during a reserve game at Vitesse Arnhem on Monday night.
He has now been transferred from Arnhem to a hospital in Amsterdam, where doctors plan for him to spend the next two weeks.
It is not yet known what might have caused the sudden condition, but in a statement on their website, Ajax said the player is feeling fine at present.
No change
"Sno is doing well, and there is no change in his situation since Monday night," the statement said.
The Ajax squad met with team officials on Tuesday morning for an update on Sno's condition before their usual training session.
The former Celtic midfielder, who has also played for Bristol City, Feyenoord and NAC Breda, fell to the ground 18 minutes after coming on as a half-time substitute in the reserve match.
He required 10 minutes of treatment on the pitch in which a defibrillator was used three times by the club's quick-thinking medical staff.
