Experienced shot-stopper poised to arrive at Galgenwaard
Veteran goalkeeper Rob van Dijk looks set to join FC Utrecht after undergoing a medical earlier this week.
Utrecht are keen to bring in a new keeper, with regular No.1 Michel Vorm expected to complete a move to the Premier League with Swansea in the near future.
Van Dijk, 42, is a free agent after leaving Feyenoord at the end of last season and would be expected to take up a mentoring role to Utrecht's young shot-stoppers Roberto Junior Fernandez and Erik Cummins.
The Eredivisie side confirmed on their
official website that the keeper is poised to sign a season-long deal.
"We strongly wanted to find an experienced goalkeeper", said technical director Foeke Booy.
"In Rob van Dijk we have found a mentor. He is fit and has proven himself to be of great value in recent seasons."
