Daniel Sturridge returned to Liverpool's start line-up for the first time since early October and it did not take him long to make a impact.
The England forward, who was withdrawn on the hour mark, scored twice in four first-half minutes as Liverpool came from a goal down to thrash Southampton 6-1 at St Mary's and book their place in the semi-finals of the Capital One Cup.
