Swansea eased into the third round of the Capital One Cup with a 3-0 victory over York at the Liberty Stadium.
Garry Monk made 11 changes from the side which drew at Sunderland on Saturday but Swansea's second-string still had too much class for their League Two opponents.
Nathan Dyer, who scored twice in the Wembley final against Bradford when Swansea won the competition in 2013, set them on their way inside two minutes as York appeared overawed on the big stage.
England Under-20 international Matt Grimes grabbed his first goal for the club before substitute Marvin Emnes added a third in the dying moments.
Swansea had the perfect start when Wayne Routledge's delicious through-ball split the York defence.
York goalkeeper Scott Flinders was off his line quickly to block bravely at the feet of Antonio Eder but the ball ran loose to the unmarked Dyer who made no mistake by finding the corner of the net.
Flinders did come to York's rescue when he pushed aside Routledge's well-struck curler and Ki Sung-yueng's deflected drive after 18 minutes flew just wide.
But a spell of sloppy Swansea passing gave York heart and they almost equalised when Vadaine Oliver forced the debut-making Kristoffer Nordfeldt into an acrobatic save from a corner.
But Nordfeldt could only watch on as Minstermen midfielder James Berrett tried his luck from 20 yards and the ball clattered back off the Swansea crossbar.
Those chances stirred Swansea back into life and Grimes wasted a one-on-one situation against Flinders before Eder came desperately close to opening his Swansea account following his summer move from Braga.
Grimes laid a delightful ball into his path but Flinders foiled the Portugal striker from close range before Eder turned smartly on Franck Tabanou's pass but shot straight at the goalkeeper.
Swansea's wastefulness in front of goal continued in the second half when Grimes advanced to the edge of the penalty area and worked the ball on to his left foot but drove over.
Oliver gave warning York were not out of the contest when his angled effort just cleared the crossbar but Grimes doubled the home side's advantage after 64 minutes.
Angel Rangel fed Grimes and the former Exeter forward's shot beat Flinders with the help of a deflection and Emnes lashed home another against a tiring defence with two minutes remaining.
