Manchester United and Tottenham will have their sights firmly set on the top spots in their groups in European action on Tuesday night. Having both qualified for the knock-out rounds with a match to spare last month, United and Spurs will now be aiming to win their groups as they take on Valencia and FC Twente respectively, live on Sky Sports HD2 and HD4. Not every side are in such a fortunate position heading into the sixth and final round of group games, with some teams still fighting to keep their UEFA Champions League dreams alive.

Battle

Manchester United and Valencia will be battling it out for first place in Group C when they clash at Old Trafford, with both sides already through to the last 16. Sir Alex Ferguson's side triumphed 1-0 on their last meeting in Spain back in September, and a point will be enough for the Red Devils to clinch the top spot. United have yet to concede a goal in five European encounters so far this term and another clean sheet in Manchester would see the club become the first to reach the knockout rounds without their defence being breached. Rangers will visit Bursaspor in a dead rubber tie having already been eliminated from the competition last time out. The SPL champions, who finished third in Group C, can take some consolation from winning a spot in the Europa League round of 32, while their Turkish hosts are likely to still be stinging from their 6-1 thrashing at the hands of Valencia last month. Group A might already be wrapped up in terms of qualification, but Tottenham could claim top spot ahead of Inter Milan if they triumph at FC Twente. Harry Redknapp's men are level on points with the European champions, but need only to match the Nerazzurri's result at Werder Bremen to be assured of pole position, while Twente are already out of the tournament. Inter Milan will be keen on clinching pole position in Group A from Spurs when they make the trip to eliminated Werder Bremen. Rafa Benitez's men thrashed the German side 4-0 in their last meeting and will be seeking a similar result this time around, while Bremen's European hopes are already over having finished bottom of the group.
Winners
Rubin Kazan are still in the running for second place and qualification as they travel to Barcelona, who have already won Group D to advance to the knockout stages. But Rubin are up against FC Copenhagen for the second spot, with the Danish side entertaining Panathinaikos in the final group game after the Greeks finished bottom. Schalke remain in contention to win Group B as they journey to Benfica, who were knocked out last month. However, they will be battling Lyon to keep hold of the top spot, with the French side currently second in the group and one point adrift ahead of their home clash against eliminated Hapoel Tel-Aviv.
