Juventus v Tottenham
- This will be the first meeting between Juventus and Tottenham in European competition.
- Juventus have been eliminated in each of their last five knockout ties with English teams in Europe.
- Tottenham will be facing Italian opposition for the second time in the Champions League Last 16; progressing past Milan (1-0 over two legs) in 2011.
Basel v Manchester City
- FC Basel have lost just four of their 14 Champions League games against English sides (W5 D5 L4).
- This will be Manchester City's first ever match against Swiss opposition in European competition.
- The Citizens have progressed in just one of their previous four Last 16 ties in the Champions League (v Dynamo Kyiv in 2015-16).
Porto v Liverpool
- Liverpool will be facing FC Porto for the first time in the Champions League since the 2007-08 group stages. Liverpool won 4-1 at home and drew 1-1 away.
- The other meeting between these two sides came in the UEFA Cup quarter-finals in 2001, Liverpool winning 2-0 over two legs and eventually winning the competition.
- Liverpool have won just two of their last 10 European games against Portuguese opposition (W2 D4 L4).
Sevilla v Man Utd
- This will be the first meeting between Sevilla and Manchester United in European competition.
- Man Utd have won just two of their last 10 Champions League matches against Spanish sides (W2 D5 L3).
- The Red Devils have lost three of their last four CL knockout games (including final) versus Spanish teams.
Chelsea v Barcelona
- Barcelona have progressed from six of their last seven Champions League knockout ties against English opposition (excluding final) - the exception was against Chelsea in the semi-final in 2011/12.
- Chelsea will meet Barcelona for the 6th time in the Champions League knockout stages; only Bayern Munich and Real Madrid have met on more occasions (8).
- Lionel Messi has faced Chelsea eight times without scoring a single goal from 29 shots; his worst record against a single club during his career.
