Spartak Trnava punished for racist chants in Europa League

Slovakia club Spartak Trnava have been fined £53,000 and ordered to play their next home Europa League match in an empty stadium after racist chants by supporters.

UEFA confirmed the news in a statement on Friday and also fined Spartak £19k (€22k) for blocked stairways and the improper conduct of their players - five of whom collected yellow cards - in the home match against Anderlecht on September 20.

Spartak won that game 1-0 and next host Group D leaders Dinamo Zagreb at the City Arena on October 25.
