Egil Olsen has been appointed as Iraq coach until after the 2010 World Cup.
The former Wimbledon manager, nicknamed Drillo, has been handed a three-year contract.
Olsen previously rejected the Iraqi national team post in May but has now taken on the role.
"I can't say that much, but it is a contract aiming for the World Cup in 2010," agent Gunnar Martin Kjenner told VG.
