Former Rangers boss takes role at Gulf state
Paul Le Guen has been named as the new boss of the Oman national team.
The French coach succeeds compatriot Claude Leroy who was sacked after Oman's poor performance at the last Gulf Cup.
Le Guen, who has previously managed Rangers and Paris Saint Germain, will arrive in the country on June 27 before their friendlies against Kuwait and Lebanon.
The former France International will prepare Oman for qualifying for the next World Cup in 2014, with the Asian zone kicking off later this year.
The 47-year-old was in charge of the Cameroon national team at last year's World Cup in South Africa.
But he resigned immediately after the tournament after the Indomitable Lions finished bottom of their group, having failed to pick up a single point.
