England Women's head coach Mark Sampson wants to take some time to decide on his future in the role.

The Lionesses were knocked out of the European Championships by tournament hosts the Netherlands in the semi-final on Thursday, and Sampson has refused to be drawn on where his future lies.

"It's a period of time for reflection," Sampson told Sky Sports News.

"We want to make sure we go away and make the right decisions and help this team move forward. We are convinced this team will be the best in the world and we need to go away and make the right decisions to help them get there.

"Let's give the players, the staff a chance to go away spend some time with their families and then start to think about how they're going to improve and what we're going to do next."
