Sir Bobby Charlton has urged England's players to finally win the World Cup again in his lifetime.
The 1966 winner will be celebrated when England face Slovenia in a World Cup Qualifier at Wembley on Thursday, ahead of his 80th birthday next week.
Charlton reminded Gareth Southgate's men that winning the World Cup is still the greatest achievement in the sport, with England two points from guaranteeing qualification to next year's tournament in Russia.
He said: "Winning the World Cup is the greatest thing you can achieve. It's all out there in front of you and you can do it.
"I know that the manager has the ability and I do hope that you can give me one of the greatest memories of my life.
"Do everything you can to try to win the World Cup. The World Cup is the big thing, it's the end product of everything that you ever want to do, and you can do it for us."
Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford insists England are planning to try and win the World Cup next summer and insists Charlton's words are always big inspiration for the players.
"(Bobby Charlton is) someone who has won it before. That's the biggest inspiration we can have as players," he said.
"What he says to us and the information he gives us and the memories, these are things no-one else can give to us.
"We've had him at United for years, but just having little conversations with him and seeing him around the place, it can give us all a big boost."
