England ended their World Cup penalty shootout curse against Colombia to spark wild celebrations across in the country

England fans up and down the country celebrated in style on Tuesday night after their side reached the quarter-finals of the World Cup with a dramatic penalty shootout win over Colombia.

The Three Lions had looked on course for a 1-0 win in Moscow when Harry Kane put his side in front with a calmly taken penalty in the 57th minute.

However, with just seconds remaining in the match, Barcelona centre-back Yerry Mina equalised for Colombia with a towering head to send the match to extra-time.

Neither side could find the breakthrough in additional time and the match progressed to sudden-death penalties, where Eric Dier kept his nerve to score the winning spot-kick after Jordan Pickford had earlier denied AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca.
