Jordan Henderson stays with England despite suspension but John Stones returns home

Jordan Henderson will remain in Spain with the England squad despite being ruled out of their game on Monday through suspension.

The Liverpool midfielder received a second yellow card of the UEFA Nations League in England's 0-0 draw in Croatia on Friday for a tug on their Barcelona playmaker Ivan Rakitic.

That means Henderson misses the game with Spain at Real Betis' ground but he has opted to remain in Spain with the squad because his family had already booked to come out to be with him.

He is also part of England's Player Leadership Group and is therefore involved still in team meetings.

John Stones returned to the UK on a flight on Sunday morning, however, with the Manchester City defender having also picked up a second caution in the behind-closed-doors match in Croatia, also for a foul on Rakitic.
