The Football Association has put discussions to change their name to the 'English FA' on hold.

Outgoing chief executive Martin Glenn and chairman Greg Clarke were keen to push through a 'rebrand' of the organisation, to help boost England's chances of landing the 2030 World Cup - and counter accusations of arrogance from associations abroad.

It's understood the FA board were unwilling to rubber stamp the changes.

The plans have been shelved for the time being - and will be revisited by Glenn's replacement Mark Bullingham when he takes up his role in the autumn.
