Villa midfielder not giving up on England call

Skysports.com can confirm Nigel Reo-Coker has no intention of accepting a call-up from Sierra Leone. The former England Under 21 international qualifies for the African nation through his father and spent several years living in the country as a child. Reo-Coker is currently battling for a first-team place at Aston Villa and has featured in four of the club's Premier League games so far this season. His agent Tony Finnigan confirmed that he would not be accepting any call-up from Sierra Leone in the near future as the 26-year-old London-born midfielder still has high hopes of pulling on the Three Lions shirt. "Obviously he is flattered by any approach, but he is not even contemplating playing for Sierra Leone," Finnigan told skysports.com. "Nigel is a former England Under 21 captain, he is only 26 and he is playing Premier League football. "Nigel is confident in his own abilities and if he can get start playing week-in, week-out for Villa then there is no reason why he could not force his way into an England squad."
