Stoke striker overjoyed with goal against Man City
Stoke City striker Peter Crouch was delighted with his goal against Manchester City on Saturday and hopes that he can claim a place in the England squad.
Crouch scored a wonder goal against Roberto Mancini's side in their Premier League encounter at the Britannia Stadium when he volleyed home from 30 yards after brilliantly receiving the ball.
The game eventually ended in a 1-1 draw and Crouch was understandably jubilant with his strike.
One of the best
"Yes, it's got to be up there with the best goals I have scored in my career," he told
ESPN after the match.
"I am really pleased with the general performance of the team.
"I am confident in my volleying technique and I was really pleased to see that flying in.
England set-up
"My aim is always to do well for Stoke and get into the England set-up," further enthused Crouch.
"I have really enjoyed my season here at Stoke. The manager (Tony Pulis) has been top class with me, and long may this continue."
He added: "Man City are a fantastic side but today we matched them and could have won the game.
"They are obviously going to run United close (for the title)."
