Graham Taylor has told Sky Sports News HQ he does not recall a conversation in which says he was told by some FA members to limit the number of black players he selected when he was in charge of the England team.

A new book has alleged Taylor made the claim to former Birmingham player Richie Moran, who later became an anti-racism campaigner, at a function in Watford in 1999.

Taylor has reiterated he remembers the function but has no recollection of a conversation with anyone about player quotas.

He declined the offer of an interview with Sky Sports News HQ, having been advised by his legal team not to say any more about the matter in public.

The claims have been made in 'Pitch Black: The Story of Black British Footballers' which will be published on Friday.

The book was written by Emy Onuora, brother of former Huddersfield, Swindon and Gillingham striker Iffy Onuora.
