Robert Snodgrass hopes to captain Scotland

Hull City's Robert Snodgrass has revealed he will put himself forward to become the new Scotland captain following Scott Brown's decision to retire from international football.
It is expected an announcement on the new captain will be made before September 4, when Scotland face Malta in their opening qualifying match for the 2018 World Cup.
West Brom's Darren Fletcher wore the captain's armband during Scotland's end-of-season friendlies against Italy and France and is also expected to be in contention for the role of skipper.
Snodgrass has been capped 17 times for his country but missed out on Scotland's unsuccessful Euro 2016 qualifying matches through injury.
"It is a dream to play for your country first and foremost. It is even bigger to try to captain the side," the Tigers midfielder told the BBC.
"I will throw my name in the hat, definitely. It is a massive honour."
The 28-year-old also said he was surprised at Celtic midfielder Brown's decision to quit the national side at such a young age.
Brown, who won his 50th and final cap against Denmark in March, said he had taken the decision after suffering with injuries in recent seasons and thought he would struggle with balancing commitments for club and country.
"I didn't see it coming to be honest," Snodgrass admitted. "Scott is still young, he is only 31, and he has so much to give in terms of his enthusiasm and character around the squad.
"He has been a terrific captain, he has been superb to work with and I wish him all the best with his club career and taking that forward."
