Kieran Tierney and Russell Martin will miss Scotland's friendlies against Costa Rica and Hungary, although Jack Hendry has been added to the squad by Alex McLeish.

Tierney has been withdrawn from the squad due to a calf problem that forced him to miss Celtic's goalless draw against Motherwell at Fir Park on Sunday. Rangers defender Martin is also injured.

Manager Brendan Rodgers hopes to have Tierney back for the home game against Ross County after the international break but confirmed the defender will not join up with the national squad.

Rodgers said: "He had a slight issue with his calf towards the end of last week. We gave him through the week to see how he felt. It wasn't quite right.

"He couldn't play today and we'll see how he is for the Ross County game. He won't be travelling to Scotland."

Scotland boss Alex McLeish still has a couple of options at left-back with Liverpool's Andy Robertson and Wolves' Barry Douglas both selected.

Hendry's call-up is his first for the senior side, and comes just two months after the 22-year-old moved to Celtic from Dundee.
