Wales call up Bournemouth midfielder Shaun MacDonald
Monday 9 November 2015 12:53, UK
Bournemouth midfielder Shaun MacDonald has been called into the Wales squad for Friday's friendly with the Netherlands.
MacDonald replaces David Cotterill, who missed Birmingham's 5-2 Championship victory at Fulham on Saturday with a knee injury and is expected to be sidelined for two or three weeks.
The Football Association of Wales confirmed the news on their Twitter account, saying: "#WALvNET SQUAD UPDATE: @afcbournemouth's @ShaunMac20 is called into the Wales squad to replace David Cotterill."
Wales manager Chris Coleman is already without Gareth Bale, Aaron Ramsey, Hal-Robson Kanu and Jazz Richards at the Cardiff City Stadium.
The friendly marks the start of Wales' Euro 2016 build-up after qualification for next summer's finals in France was achieved last month.
