Shane Long will miss the first leg of the Republic of Ireland's Euro 2016 play-off against Bosnia and Herzegovina on Friday.

The striker's ankle injury will not heal in time for the trip to Zenica, but he has not yet been ruled out of the return leg at the Aviva Stadium on Monday.

Also out on Friday is goalkeeper Keiren Westwood, who aggravated an ankle injury in training on Wednesday and has been replaced in the squad by Charlton's Stephen Henderson.

Martin O'Neill has now lost three keepers following the withdrawals of Shay Given and Rob Elliot, while defender John O'Shea is suspended for Friday and an injury doubt for Monday.
