Martin O'Neill has announced his provisional 34-man Republic of Ireland squad for their vital World Cup play-off clashes against Denmark in November.

Wolves defender Matt Doherty is a notable inclusion, and as expected there is no return ahead of schedule for Burnley forward Jon Walters following his injury.

Goalkeeper Keiren Westwood returns following a rib injury, and though he is included, midfielder David Meyler is suspended for the first leg game.

O'Neill's side are away in the first leg in Copenhagen on Saturday, November 11 before returning to Dublin for the second leg at the Aviva Stadium on Tuesday, November 14. Both games will be live on Sky Sports.

The squad will meet up on Monday, November 6 to begin training.
