Shane Long and Derrick Williams have withdrawn from the Republic of Ireland squad for the games against Northern Ireland and Denmark.
Southampton striker Long is facing a spell on the sidelines with an ankle injury, while Blackburn defender Williams will miss out with a hamstring problem.
The Republic face Northern Ireland in a home friendly on Thursday before playing the Danes in their final Nations League group game on November 19. Both matches are live on Sky Sports.
Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher and Southampton forward Michael Obafemi, who were handed first senior call-ups when manager Martin O'Neill named a 36-man provisional party, are retained.
Aston Villa midfielder Glenn Whelan will captain the side as he wins his 85th cap against Northern Ireland, but will not travel to Denmark.
Manchester United defender Lee O'Connor - captain of Ireland's U19s - will train with the squad in Abbotstown this week.
