Chelsea forward Alvaro Morata has withdrawn from Spain's squad for the World Cup Qualifiers against Albania and Israel with a hamstring injury.

Morata was forced off after 35 minutes during Chelsea's 1-0 defeat to Manchester City.

The 24-year-old, who joined Chelsea from Real Madrid during the summer, is one of three players Spain coach Julien Lopetegui wlll be without for the two games.

Dani Carvajal is absent after missing Real Madrid's 2-0 win over Espanyol with a virus while Andres Iniesta also has a hamstring problem and Barcelona say he will be out for 10 days.

The injured trio have been replaced by 36-year-old Athletic Bilbao striker Aritz Aduriz, Real Sociedad full-back Alvaro Odriozola and Las Palmas midfielder Jonathan Viera.

Spain lead Group G by three points from Italy and one win from their final two games is likely to be enough to qualify automatically for next year's tournament in Russia.

Chelsea will now monitor Morata's recovery and hope that he is fit to face Crystal Palace on October 14.
