Sergio Ramos has been ruled out of Spain's upcoming Euro 2016 qualifiers with a calf injury, the RFEF has announced.

The Real Madrid defender underwent tests on Monday which detected "a muscular injury in the calf of his right leg" and he will miss the matches against Slovakia (October 9) and Luxembourg (October 12).

Barcelona defender Marc Bartra has been called into the squad in place of Ramos.

The 23-year-old has won two senior caps for his country to date.

He made his full debut in the 2-1 friendly win over Equatorial Guinea in Malabo last November, and was a second-half substitute for Ramos in the 5-1 European qualifying victory over Macedonia in Valencia last month.
